Hi,

My wife, Ann Walker, and I will be volunteering at an orphange in Arusha for a month starting November 15.

We were PCVs in Uzbekistan in 2004-2005. Could we come visit you in the second half of December? You may have received an e-mail from your warden about us.

Thanks.

No training really, though we do want to bike down to Iringa, 200km, which will require some proper mazoezi (exercise/practice).
I might be confusing it with the moonstone mine, but I feel like someone said copper. I haven't been in there yet, Mathayo says it is separate from the trail. Mathayo photos are from a different journey, he had to cover the shop the day we climbed.

Hey - great to hear you made it all the way - that's tough! How much training did you do beforehand? I see M in the photo - did he and others go as well? And is the mine your describing different than the Moonstone mine visible in town? Pretty cool find if it is another. And it sounds like the fires have started again - they happen every season. Pretty sad. Hope things are well - be glad you don't have to suffer through all the US/media politics!

Hello,

My name is Tearrie and I am the assistant publicist at the Hesperian Foundation, publisher of Where There Is No Doctor. I came across your blog today, and I must say I was quite honored to see mention of our book. In light of reading about the challenge you're experiencing with finding HIV related resources, I recommend you take a look at one of our books, HIV, Health, & Your Community: A Guide for Action. It is currently not available for free download, however, several of our other titles are and I think they may also be of great support to you. Check them out when you get chance at http://www.hesperian.org . You can also find us on MySpace and Facebook.

Best,
